PERCEPTION IS REALTIY

[from nytimes today]

"'Perception is reality in our world because people bet what they think is going to happen,' said Jay Rood, who is the race and sports book director for MGM Mirage, which operates the Bellagio’s and nine other casinos’ sports books here."

And that reality is created "in a room with no clocks and no windows."

Time to make different realities!

to me, there isn't that much value in this statement... you can break down and question reality in a lot of ways, but in this context, this seems kind of ubsurd. if perception is reality because of the way people bet, they wouldn't have to wait for an outcome, they'd just take their money. if anything, this seems like an example showing perception isn't reality.
